David Chantrey, Photographer
Dave started taking photographs for fun, with a camera he inherited from his father. It had moving needles, manual focus and a manual film advance, which should give some idea as to how long he’s been doing it. These days he uses slightly more modern gear, but still enjoys capturing an image as much as ever. What unites his work is a desire to tell a story with every shot, and a hope that it will make people smile. From stark monochrome to bright colour, from the urban landscape to the drama and movement of sport, his limited edition, signed archival prints offer something for everyone. His work is regularly on show in galleries and public spaces, has appeared in books, calendars and other publications, and features in many private collections throughout the UK and internationally. He doesn’t usually write about himself in the third person. |
